Qayyim Academy introduced to archery
Thursday, Nov 10
On Saturday November 5, the sport of archery was introduced to Qayyim Academy which is located in Uitvlugt, West Coast Demerara, by Archery Guyana.
With the goal of becoming the next school to register an Archery Club, Principal of the School Mrs Bibi Romena Constantine-Mohamed had reached out to the federation, which was finally done on Saturday last. Discussions were held between the Principal and Head Coach Nicholas Hing on the sport and its various forms, with the ultimate goal of Olympic recurve archery.
With the help of Archery Guyana’s archer/instructor Saeed Karim, Head Coach Nicholas Hing gave the scores of excited children (and their Headmistress), the chance to try out for the first time how to use the bow and arrow.
